ABSTRACT:
Chlorogenic acid is a polyphenol that exhibits strong antioxidant properties. Wound healing is one of the pharmacological effects of Chlorogenic acid that several researchers have identified. But the application of Chlorogenic acid is limited because of its low bioavailability and less stability, even though it is safe and effective. The primary task was to improve the bioavailability by enhancing the permeability and to improve the stability by adding the drug to a topical cream formulation. The FTIR analysis established compatibility between the drug and the chosen excipients. The results of the present research proved that the topical cream with the presence of Chlorogenic acid accelerated the wound closure. Also, it was discovered that the extract was not cytotoxic. These findings are an indication that Chlorogenic acid does possess wound healing potential, able to harbor the potential to be used as a future natural wound healing agent.
