ABSTRACT:
Herbs and medicinal plants are thought to be rich sources of components that can be utilized in the creation of new drugs. Herbal mouthwash is a natural oral hygiene product that uses plant-based ingredients to produce a mouthwash that is both safe and effective. In addition to refreshing breath and supporting healthy gums and teeth, herbal mouthwash is meant to offer a number of advantages, such as anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-plaque properties. Herbal mouthwash provides a substitute for chemical-based oral care solutions, which may result in sensitivity and discomfort. For individuals looking for a more natural approach to oral hygiene, the formulation of herbal mouthwash offers a viable answer in light of the growing interest in natural medicines and alternative health practices. This literature review’s primary goal is to create and assess a herbal mouthwash and determine how well it works against oral cavity microbes. When the produced mouthwash was tested against pathogens, it was found to be successful in reducing and eliminating oral microbial growth. Mouthwash was evaluated for additional physiochemical characteristics and found to have strong antibacterial action. The physical assessment, pH measurement, stability, foam test, density, viscosity, and antibacterial activity were next investigated.
